I actually received a return phone call the other day a full 2 weeks after I left the message. It was aimed at service in general. You asked how I think we can combat this issue. The continuing education may help to a degree though I don't know if we can ever weed out all the bad apples. It was 5PMa there was 6a agents in the office. I was leaving and the phone rang. I watched everyone ignore the call. I answered it showed a house, brought the buyers back to the office, wrote an offer all while the agents talked. They never know what happened.
